Elite Technique.
Every Terrain.

The L3 Technical Course is the cornerstone of the Level 3 pathway — and the most demanding module in the BASI ski instructor framework. Over five days in Gudauri, candidates develop the technical skiing ability required to operate at the highest level of professional instruction.

The course goes far beyond confident parallel skiing. The standard requires a deep understanding of the BASI Skill Set and the ability to perform and demonstrate technique across every terrain type and snow condition — from groomed red and black pistes to off-piste and variable snow. You are expected to ski at a level that is genuinely impressive to your students.

The course teaches the most modern techniques and skills in skiing today, with a strong focus on developing your demo abilities — accurate, clean demonstrations of any turn or task, on demand, that show your students exactly what great skiing looks like.

  • 75–80 km of groomed runs — the longest over 7 km
  • Open off-piste terrain right beside the pistes

What You Need

How You're Assessed

01 — Technical Skiing

Candidates ski designated runs on black and advanced red terrain. Assessment covers the full BASI Skill Set — edge, pressure, stance, rotation, and line — across free skiing, specific drills, and demonstration turns. The standard is elite: technique must be consistent, precise, and visually compelling across all conditions encountered on assessment day.

Candidates should be able to ski any terrain Gudauri offers on the day without their technique deteriorating under pressure. Inconsistency or compensatory habits that were tolerated at L2 standard will be assessed negatively at L3.

Pass Criteria

Your skiing must meet the L3 standard consistently, on every run you are asked to ski. The L3 Technical standard is materially higher than any previous BASI assessment.

Result & Feedback

Results on Day 5. Comprehensive written feedback for every candidate. Feedback is specific, technical, and actionable — the foundation of your continued development toward the remaining L3 modules or further professional goals.

Questions about BASI courses

Is a BASI qualification from Georgia the same as one from the UK?

Yes. It is the same BASI qualification, and we are the only BASI provider in Georgia.

What do I need to join BASI Level 1?

Parallel skiing on red runs, age 16 or over, and an active BASI membership.

What is not included in the BASI course fee?

Accommodation, lift pass, ski equipment rental and the BASI exam registration fee.

How do I go from Level 1 to Level 3?

Level 1 (4 days), then Level 2 (10 days), then the Level 3 modules, taken in any order.

I qualified with another association. Can I join Level 2 or 3?

Yes, in most cases. Equivalent qualifications from other snowsport associations are accepted.

How much is the deposit, and when do I pay the rest?

The deposit is 20% of the total price. The rest is due 60 days before your start date.
