The Senior
Pathway

BASI Level 3 is the senior instructor qualification — the standard that distinguishes working professionals from entry-level instructors. Where Level 2 qualifies you to teach independently, Level 3 develops the deeper technical skill, analytical ability, and professional breadth that defines a senior career in snowsport instruction.

BASI Level 3 is built from five distinct modules, each covering a separate domain of professional excellence. We run three of them in Gudauri every March — Teaching, Mountain Safety and Technical — in consecutive weeks. Modules can be taken in any order and at your own pace. You do not need to complete all five — each module stands alone as a recognised BASI qualification addition. Completing all five constitutes the full BASI Level 3.

Maximum 6–8 candidates per BASI trainer, depending on the module. The smaller group size reflects the higher standard of personal attention and targeted feedback that senior-level development demands.

Questions about BASI courses

Is a BASI qualification from Georgia the same as one from the UK?

Yes. It is the same BASI qualification, and we are the only BASI provider in Georgia.

What do I need to join BASI Level 1?

Parallel skiing on red runs, age 16 or over, and an active BASI membership.

What is not included in the BASI course fee?

Accommodation, lift pass, ski equipment rental and the BASI exam registration fee.

How do I go from Level 1 to Level 3?

Level 1 (4 days), then Level 2 (10 days), then the Level 3 modules, taken in any order.

I qualified with another association. Can I join Level 2 or 3?

Yes, in most cases. Equivalent qualifications from other snowsport associations are accepted.

How much is the deposit, and when do I pay the rest?

The deposit is 20% of the total price. The rest is due 60 days before your start date.
